Close to the work.

Mirai Labs is a product engineering studio. We stay close to the work—from product decisions and architecture through implementation and launch. Each engagement is shaped around what the product actually needs.

How we think

The right solution starts with the problem.

We work from first principles: understand the problem, identify the constraints, and choose the simplest approach that meets them. The stack follows the work—not the other way around.

How we use AI

AI is changing how software gets built, accelerating the path from an idea to working code. But producing more code is not the same as building the right product.

We believe AI is a bicycle for the mind, not a replacement for it. These tools still require a steady human hand: to frame the problem, question assumptions, and take responsibility for the result.

We use AI as an accelerant to human work—not a substitute for thought, craft, or accountability. Production quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability remain the standard.

The founder

Preetam D'Souza

Preetam D'Souza is the founder of Mirai Labs, a product and systems engineer whose work spans Android and mobile platforms, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, performance engineering, and applied AI. He created Maru OS, an innovative operating system uniting desktop and mobile paradigms. At AWS, he led the Amazon WorkDocs Android app from initial build through launch and enterprise scale.
